The Chesterfield Branch of Girls For A Change offers two programs during the school year: before and after school enrichment for girls in elementary school, and the same for middle school-age girls. The programs are licensed by the state’s Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood Development and Office of Child Care Licensing to serve children between the ages of six and thirteen. The programs are open to girls in schools throughout Central Virginia, as well as home schoolers. A director and trained counselors with extensive education and experience with young children staff our center, offering a girl-centered program filled with fun and educational activities.

GFAC strongly believes that no girl should be denied an opportunity to attend a program due to lack of funds; however, we ask every effort be made by each applicant and their family to “earn their own way.” Sliding-scale tuition or full scholarships are available for girls currently in 1st grade through 8th grade living in the Bon Air district of Chesterfield County, Virginia.
To apply for sliding-scale tuition, a parent, guardian, teacher or concerned friend of a girl must send a completed scholarship application explaining the circumstances leading to the need for reduced tuition.
All approved tuition-reduced recipients will be notified in August for the upcoming school year, and in late April for summer programs.
*** In order to be considered for a scholarship, Before and After School Program and Scholarship Applications must be completed and $50 application fee must be paid. ***
