In 2010, Soccer Without Border interns launched GFC in Granada, Nicaragua. They tailored the GFC curriculum to work within the existing SWB program and translated materials into Spanish. The team decided that one of the main causes of Child Abuse was the lack of knowledge/education in their community. They created an awareness campaign that brought together children and parents from the SWB program. The event was open to the public and during a slideshow the girls shared information on the rights of children and parents and how to stop the cycle of abuse.
