The Girls For A Change Phoenix site marked GFC's first step toward national expansion. After a successful pilot program in the spring of 2006, GFC hired two full time staff in this site. In 2006-07, the site's first full year of programming, more than 20 Girl Action Teams from throughout Maricopa County completed projects. Phoenix Girl Action Teams include collaborations with schools, organizations and group homes. As of July 2010 Florence Crittenton has committed to be an affiliate of Girls For A Change. Through this affiliate relationship Florence Crittenton will now implement the Girls For A Change program in Maricopa County.

The GFC national office will continue to provide materials, support, and training to Florence Crittenton.
