GFAC Change Makers
Meet Hannah Martin
Our Spotlight of the month is someone who knows Girls For A Change very well because she was once a part of Camp Diva in its start up. And once a part of Camp Diva, always a part of Camp Diva. From the time she was ten years old, until age 14, she was not only part of Camp Diva's Summer Program, but she also participated in Girl Action Teams ( GAT ) after school program. And, during her time in Camp Diva, she was part of the GAT girl members who started that very special father-daughter dance that became the first-ever Date with Dad, where she enjoyed rapping with her dad, and dancing with her dad, among other things. And she and her dad continue to attend the Date with Dad Dinner and Dance every year and look forward to celebrating the 10th Date with Dad in 2017. Since her involvement, she graduated from high school and is now a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she is majoring in Psychology. It has been ten years since she embraced us with her warm spirit and cheerful attitude Camp Diva 2016 girl members had the honor of Hannah being our Key Note speaker at ur annual closing ceremony this summer. She has always shared how much she enjoyed the women that spoke to her and worked with her, and now, she also works with young people in her work at Albert Hill Middle School in the main office. She says she not only enjoys being able to work with young people every day, but she also enjoys writing poetry and spoken word. Her goal is to become a youth counselor and novelist, But today, she is enjoys facilitating her Rites of Passage program, Coaching a Girl Action Team after school, and sharing her experiences in life. So let's celebrate the young woman I'm talking about right now. She is Sister Hannah Martin.

If we reflect on our life experiences, we’ll probably notice that leadership opportunities really began when we were young…that’s also when our most influential life lessons in leadership were learned.
So help GIRLS FOR A CHANGE and help girls take the leap and lead.
Your donation will go toward launching more Girl Action Teams after-school, where they’ll discover how to become leaders and social change advocates in their community, and across our nation, as they also discover the leader within themselves.
