Girls For A Change (GFC) is a national organization that empowers thousands of teen girls to create and lead social change. When a video of a brutal "girl fight" in Florida was posted on YouTube in April, it sparked media coverage of violence among girls and debate about whether so-called girl aggression is on the rise. Here the GFC community discusses the problem—and solutions:

Each year, hundreds of girls join Girl Action Teams through GFC and create and implement projects to improve their communities. Many of these projects focus on ending and preventing violence—from bullying to girl fights and gossip to gang violence, genocide, child abuse and domestic violence. Each year, we celebrate the girls, women and community supporters that make GFC possible. Our annual Completion Ceremonies feature keynote speakers, "IT Girl" Awards, and video presentations of 2007-2008 Girl Action Team projects as well as testimonials from Coaches about their GFC experiences.

More than 23 Girl Action Teams in Phoenix and 48 teams in Silicon Valley started meeting in October.
