Help Us Raise Funds on #GivingTuesday
This year, Facebook has made donating and fundraising infinitely easier for donors and nonprofits through its donate button feature. As a way to promote this feature, they have partnered with PayPal and will be matching up to $7 Million dollars for non-profits raising funds during #GivingTuesday. They are matching donations made through Facebook up to $250,000 per nonprofit or $20,000 per donor or donate button and will match until their $7 million in funds run out! The match will begin at 8AM EST on Tuesday, November 27, 2018.
This is a HUGE opportunity for Girls For A Change, however, we need your help to ensure we raise as much funds as possible. We will be promoting donations on Facebook using Facebook’s donation button and are encouraging our board and partners to help. Here’s how it works.
How You Can Help
Here are some ways you can help us fundraise and gain matching funds on Giving Tuesday.
Create a fundraiser on your Facebook page
Go to facebook.com/fundraisers, click “Raise Money”, and search for Girls For A Change. This will create a post on your timeline and can be viewed by all of your friends. Funds will go directly to our account and the post counts for the matching donations.
Add a donation button to a post on your Facebook timeline
The second way to raise money is by creating a “Donate” button directly on your timeline. All you have to do is write a post and add “#donate” or type @GirlsForAChange. Either of these actions will prompt you to create your own donation button. In your post, tell your friends and family why you are passionate about our organization or tell a story if we’ve impacted you or a loved one. Then end will a call to action to donate so that we can continue our important work.
Add a donate button to your Livestream
Love video and going live? You can also raise money through a donate button on a Facebook live post. Once you start your livestream, at the bottom of the screen there will be an option to add a “Donate Button”.
Donate on the Girls For A Change Facebook page
You can also donate directly on the donate button directly underneath our cover photo OR on any of the posts we post that day.
Share our posts
We’ll be posting all day on November 27th and every post will have a donate button. Simply share our posts on your wall to help us spread the word.
Not sure what to say? Here are some ideas.
