From November 27, 2017 - June 15, 2018

No matter what your daughter decides to do when she grows up, STEM will play a BIG part in her future. GFAC provides out of school learning opportunities to working families of girls enrolled in 1st -8th grade. These services include STEAM education, tutoring, homework support, physical activities, healthy snacks, social and emotional wellness, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, hands-on experiential learning, and supportive supervision.

Girls For A Change- Chesterfield aims to increase interest in STEAM fields among elementary and middle school girls in the Richmond Metropolitan Area; to raise access, enthusiasm, and academic achievement and to prepare them for future STEAM careers in the 21st Century.

Why Girls of Color?

To reduce barriers and disparities that persist for Black girls and other girls color.

Girls of color still lag behind in their performance on standardized tests, and they are more likely to be suspended from school.

Girls of color still face higher rates of poverty and are more likely to become involved in the criminal justice system.
